How we Charge
The Online50 service is available on straight forward monthly charges for what you have subscribed to. All charges are based on the principle that you should not have to pay for things you do not need and have not asked for. Because we bill you monthly you can increase or decrease your service at any time - we only ask that we have a full calendar months notice if you want to decrease your service.
Common Questions on Billing
| Do I have to buy a desktop license for the software I want to have hosted? | No. Software licensing terms are set by the individual software vendors, but generally speaking there is a per calendar month charge for using the software on our platform. If your vendor has stipulated that a desktop license is transferrable and you have a qualifying license then we do not have to charge you the monthly license fee as it is already covered by the transferable license that you have already purchased. | |
| How much notice do I have to give if I want to cancel? | One full calendar month for all monthly usage and software licensing fees. If you are an Online50 partner paying a monthly partner fee then this has a 3 full calendar month cancellation period. | |
| How much will I pay for upgrades? | Nothing. All of the monthly software fees include the licensing cost of upgrades when you choose to move to a new version. | |
| Can I pay for part of a month? | No. All charges for licensing and usage are based on calendar months irrespective of the amount of time for which they are used. This means that you will be charged for a calendar month regardless of the amount of usage in that month. | |
| If I can cancel with one full calendar months notice, why do you have a 12 month contract? | The contract does not specify the price, which is based on what you choose to subscribe to and can change within the duration of the contract. You are allowed to stop subscribing to particular portions or all of the service before the end of the 12 month period. You only need to give a full calendar months notice if you want to reduce your service. Having a 12 month contract gives you certain rights which you would not receive without it. | |
| Can users share accounts? | No. Part of the fees for each user are licensing fees for the Microsoft software (Windows operationg system) that runs the applications and Microsoft have chosen to license this on a per real person basis. You can choose to share access (only one user out of three to be allowed to connect at a time for example) and therefore you do not have to pay for more than you need to. Other software vendors (Sage for example) license their software by the number of simultaneous users using it, and so you will not have to pay for more simultaneous users than you have asked for. |
